Family Gigs

Uncle John’s Band

  • February 18, 2015

Back on a rainy night in the Spring of 2003, Brother John and I piled into his truck and headed out to Whitmore Lake, where in a basement studio I was treated to a rehearsal session and jam by his band Excelerator, one of the seminal “garage bands” in Southeastern Michigan during the era.

With Jimmy Sanders on lead guitar, Tommy Bellinson on bass, Brent Gross on percussion, and JRB on vocals (he also penned the songs), here is a rare and candid portrait what happens in a studio.   A blast from the past.
